Beach House, you are always great and always consistent. I've seen you live twice now and will see you again in August in, Oakland, CA. Cannot wait! You're so talented. You make the bad parts of life better. Thank you.

This album is good. I bought it and I enjoy it. However, Depression Cherry is a far superior album… Thank Your Lucky Stars sounds bland and repetitive when put next to DP. I like One Thing and Elegy to the Void!

I live and breath Beach House. Sadly, this album leaves much to be desired. The hallmark Beach House style is there. However, Thank Your Lucky Stars is lacks the artfully demure motifs and polished songwriting of previous albums. Tracks plod on and on. They are muddled dirges that leave the mind exhausted.
  • love the band, not the female vocalist

I love this band, but really don't like the female vocalist. It may be just a taste issue, but she is too "sweet" for me, and I just. Don't. like. this. album. Sweet can be done right--see Portishead or Karen O, or Florence of Florence and the Machine.

Wow.. I thought they lost it with Depression Cherry but this made up for it big time. Much more reminiscent of their earlier work.

  • Down Since Bloom

This album is waay too slow and melancholic. After listening to it several times I only like two tracks, "Majorette," and "Rough Song." They haven't made the same quality of music since "Bloom," a classic album which should be in the music hall of fame.

Ever wondered what could happen if a band could blend songs featuring dreary ’50’s slow dance sounds, with ’80’s-ish Euro post-rock? Have you ever dreamed of a set of songs made of drifty, warm, autumnal melodies evoking love, heartache, sadness, and happiness? Listening to any Beach House albums evokes a familiar feeling, like you’ve heard these sounds and motifs before. Yet you haven’t. Their songs are the ghosts of long-forgotten melodies that never made it to the sheet, reel, or vinyl groove in decades past. This duo is incredibly unique, and their music is in constant rotation in my bedroom, car, and heart.
