There long (10 mins) for only being only $.99. Its a great deal when some other people want $9.99 for an hour of the same kind of music.
  • GREAT!

I wasn't crazy about it at first, but it grew on me after a while. What's nice about these tracks is that they are only about ten minutes long, so if you just want to lay/sit down for a few minutes and relax, they're the perfect length. Great for meditation and yoga as well. :)

I read VAfreak's review, looked at the price of the album and thought..."How bad can it be...really? Downloaded it and got my answer...pretty freakin' bad! I'm really not that critical...I was just looking for something to help me meditate and sleep while I was out of town. Due to a slow internet connection (I quit after 2 1/2 hours for 4 tracks) I didn't even get the whole album.REALLY not even slightly "Natural" Sounds. Unless you've never actually heard the ocean or a thunderstorm, please don't buy this!!! CFSmom

these songs are all just under ten minutes long, which is the cutoff for allowing a song to be bought seperate from it's album. If you want to fill a playlist cheaply, these are the songs to buy. If not, I would recommend "Sounds of Nature" by Chuck Plaisance and Suzanne Doucet.

The whole point of natural sound CDs is that they actually sound natural, instead of the obviously studio manufactured faux-nature that you end up getting with this collection. Poor mixing renders "Calming Seas" and "Gentle Rivers and Streams" anything but calming or gentle. The only thing "Inspiring Thunderstorms" actually manages to inspire are images FX artists shaking large sheets of metal next to a microphone. "Forest At Midnight" would be better suited as an alarm buzzer with its incessant and unrelentingly loud nocturnal insect sounds. The only track that is even worth the effort is "Tibetan Healing Sounds" with its intermittent bells and gentle wind chime combinations. Overall, I would suggest that any prospective buyers pass on this CD.

What I like about this album is its diversity of natural sounds. Rather than a single CD dedicated to one sound, this one has eight. By looping the individual pieces over and over, you can have the individual sounds last as long as you want-- they work well that way.
