This is an extremely rare cd & one that I bought as an import way back in the early 90's. It was taped during Bruce Hornsby & the Ranges' first tour on Feb 2nd, 1987 in NYC and has excellent sound quality. Although the concert setlist is very short (6 songs & 1 intro), it is a must have for any hardcore fan and those who favor the rock pop sound that he created so perfectly back in the mid 80's. Lots of cool guitar solos, pulsating drums & of course, great piano playing from the master himself. I've seen Bruce live 3 times since 1995 and all his concerts were great but none of them were quite as exciting as this one. Hornsby & the band play with alot of fire & passion here and the concert has alot of great energy to it. It's also the sound that made most of us old fans fall in love with Hornsby's music in the first place. That perfect blend of rock, country, folk & pop... or the "Virginia sound". All in all, this is one of the finest performances from Hornsby's long & eclectic career & is a teriffic snapshot of what he sounded like in his prime. 5 stars & Highly Recommended.
