Call it punk rock or whatever - I consider this the best rock album ever made. It's original, spontaneous, and brimming with youthful exuberance. And the playing ain't bad either - witness the incredible bass line in "Maybe Partying Will Help." I was fortunate to catch Minutemen live at The Main Street Saloon in Lubbock, TX in 1985, not long before D Boone's tragic death. I didn't know it at the time, but I was witnessing a legendary band in action - one of the best of all time.

Just f'n incredible, that is all. So much verity and creativity, that it rivals London Calling. It's a tragedy that Boon had to go the way he did, right after this album too! Rest in Peace, D. Boon. You're missed.

I went to High School in the mid 90's, so this era of 80's punk passed while I was too young to know about it. I started researching bands that influenced other bands that I like on ITunes, and I found the Minutemen. This album is awesome. I'm pissed that the 80's music I grew up listening to as a little kid was all radio, synth-heavy crap. I'm glad I can finally experience what good 80's music is about.

The lead singer cant sing in my opinoin. he sounds like me when i'm testing out my vocals in the shower. Terrible.
