Nervous Breakdown,Wasted,and Damaged I are essential punk rock.While Black would become more famous with Henry Rollins as vocalist this is when they were truly dangerous.This is a must have for anyone interested in Punk Rock.

I actually like the sound of their music on this "album" better than on damaged, it's less muddy and more in your face and dirty. Then again it's all beautiful and dirty so...yeah buy this album. I usually buy CDs when I get music but someone gave me a gift card so I'm using it to buy this awesome album that I didn't know existed and I probably (ignorantly) wouldn't buy otherwise.

I never listen to this because to want this to be a surprise. But I heard this was the best Black Flag album ever made. Can't wait to find out!

Nothing against what Rollins did with the band, but this was the Flag's "heroic era". Dez Cadena is good, but my favorite tracks are the ones with Keith Morris and Ron Reyes. Keith sounds like he's going insane and Ron sounds just incredibly angry. He had quit and Greg Ginn coaxed him back to record the "Jealous Again" EP! No wonder he sounds mad, he didn't really want to do it. The songs off this compilation got the biggest reaction at the Black Flag reunion show at the Hollywood Show in 2003, for good reason. A great introduction to Black Flag's extensive catalog and an essential piece of punk rock history.

Dude, Henry Rollins kicked @ss. Why is there all the hate? Well anyway, if you want some real punk that is freaking hardcore, then you won't be dissapointed by this. Rollins is still the man though.

I was there!!! I was at almost every Black Flag gig, and even drove Dez and Robo to a gig in Palm Springs and the only Black Flag is with Dez.I think when Henry joined the should have changed the name.
This is the Black Flag to buy its history of the Punk scene never to happen again.

A great intro to people just getting into Black Flag, has a lot of great songs from the various singers, so buy the whole album chumps!

First, I join the chorus -- change the freakin' album art! This isn't FAMILY MAN! Having said that, if you're only going to own one Black Flag record, this is the one to get. These sixteen tunes defined Black Flag's status as the most powerful and visionary act in L.A. punk, and as good as the DAMAGED album may be, they never topped this stuff. (Ask Henry Rollins, he'll tell you the same thing.) Get this and DAMAGED and you'll have 90% of all the Black Flag you'll ever need (at least until those demos with Chuck Biscuits finally get released).

I agree with everyone who said this is better then the later Black Flag stuff, if your new to Black Flag is a must buy.......but Itunes can you fix the cover art??
