This is an amazing jazz album, not just a steelpan album. My favorite tracks are "Twenty" and "Bright Eyes". I already can't wait to hear what Provost has coming next!

I have to thank Reginald Cyntje for introducing me to the amazing sound of Victor Provost! From the minute I heard his unique sound on the evening of August 31, 2013 at An die Musik LIVE in Baltimore, I knew I was hearing greatness! Victor is a steel pannist, composer, and educator who has a sound that will mesmerize, groove, and entertain you. On that Saturday evening, he accompanied Reginald on the release of "Love," a great album on its own merit, along with Herman Burney on bass, Mark Meadows on piano, Eric Kennedy on drums, Christie Dashiell on vocals, and Todd Marcus on bass clarinet. Victor has recently released "Bright Eyes," his latest album, and once again he has taken the steel pan and Jazz to a new level. Bringing in some powerhouse Jazz musicians, "Bright Eyes" is for me the album that other Jazz artists have to measure up to for 2017. From the energetic first track, Eastern Standard Time, featuring outstanding saxophonist Tedd Baker, to the gritty third track Fitt Street, and onto the title track Bright Eyes featuring the great vibraphonist Joe Locke, to my favorite, Fête Antillaise that just blew me away, Victor and crew seamlessly give the listener a journey they will never forget. I can't recommend this album enough to those who appreciate professionalism in the art of music. Please support Victor in this project and continue to support live music and especially your local Jazz musicians!

This Album is simply phenomenal, well balance and the level of musicianship is first class. Victor Provost redefines the Steel Pan and expands the instrument introducing it to us in a manner that we have not heard. A variety of styles are expressed in the various songs showing a level of diversity on par with the best. This album will open you ears and mind!
