Slow Time

Have a listen to 'Let's Move on', 'Where We Once Stood' and 'Still Standing' to get you hooked. Chances are you probably heard these before somewhere and had one of those eureka moments discovering the artist who did this.

It is definitely one of my favorite pieces from this artist. No doubt deep and relaxing yet simple and subtle. These pieces are in a league to themselves!

Music that will evoke feelings of solitude and peace of mind. It is pure relaxation music. Great for any fan of ambient music. Only one complaint (listed at end). "Music for Three Vibraphones" is nice. The three vibraphones interweave and create a very relaxing song."Slow Time" features deep synth lines and what sound like filtered and effected bird sounds. It's a quality ambient song. "Let's Move On" layered synths. Very deep and ethereal. "I Could Live Here:" I disliked at first due to the percussion breaking the deep flow of the album, but fortunately the percussion doesn't become overbearing, and the track works. The heavy reverb on the piano melody and the looping synth backgrounds keep it deep. And it manages to avoid the dreaded realm of "New Age..." thankfully. "Where We Once Stood" gets the album back on the ambient track with a touching mix of deep synths building an emotional base and the slow piano lines bringing the emotion. "I remember now" takes a dive into the depths of darker tones. "A Welcome Sight" looping syth waves for the background. Minimal percussion fades in. The piano lead carries the melody while other synth layers build to the climax. At the end all that is left piano melody in heavy reverb. "Still Standing" is a wonderful song. Layered synth lines form an deep emotional base and when the piano starts it reaches right into you. Wish this song would have carried on for longer. This leads the the main problem I have with Patrick O'Hearn's music. The deepest and most moving songs are too short. This was the same for his recent album "Glaciation." Patrick should go full force into ambient. Rather than keeping one foot in New Age and one close to Ambient. As an ambient music lover, used to very long songs, Patrick's music could really be impressive if he ever devotes an album to just the deepest side of his art.
