I guess i'm too old if i don't get the term's meaning, and i fail to find the catch in these remasterd tunes... Love the Shins, but maybe I would be better served to await new, or a Broken Bells release...

James Mercer does it again—he's a genius! Seriously? Why isn't this band more popular?! I've seen a lot of bands that do flip tracks and over do it—it never turns out good—but this one came out really good!

Pretty cool idea...pretty poor execution. Why mess with what was already a great album unless you thought that you had something to add TO it...certainly not to detract FROM it (which is what happened here).

$11 for a “new” album? Not cool Mercer.
  • Bad idea

A few good moments and a great idea but this version of the album feels hollow.

Heartworms was a good album, but it wasn’t on the same level as their first four. There were standouts, “The Fear”, “Fantasy Island”, “Heartworms”, but for the most part it wasn’t typical “The Shins” quality. This album is incredible. Every song that was okay or worse on “Heartworms” is amazing on here. It sounds like a less acoustic “Chutes Too Narrow”. Overall, I prefer 8 flipped versions to their originals. Incredible work as always James!

Sometimes when you flip things over, they don’t look any better. This flipped version of heart worms just wasn’t a good idea in my opinion and not worth the full price for re-worked material. I love the Shins, but this album didn’t work for me.
