    Mehldau's past experiments have been nothing short of embarrising. Not least of which his most recent Bach expereiment. Here, however, he returns with his trio doing what they do best. This could have easily been something out of his late 90/early 2000 playbook. And thank god for that. Whatever musical sins Mehldau committed in the last few years, this album makes an effor to correct them. Get this and enjoy it while you can. -Bz
