Synchronicity (Remastered 2003)

Synchronicity is a great album. Moody and trying out different styles of music, it definitely stands out in the synth drenched 80’s musical landscape. Every song is commendable in some way, except for the outrageous Mother. That song hits me every time, and I nearly pee my pants from how hard I laugh at it every time. Simply put it is one of the worst songs ever, but it was written to be bat crazy and it mightily succeeds, and falls into the “it’s so bad it’s good” category. It’s hilarious, and I can tell Primus was fond of that one (think Green Naugahyde, but with crazy vocals). It’s presence is even more baffling when you realize Every Breath You Take is just a few tracks later, as well as King of Pain. If you’re sick of mediocre music give this one a try, you may get some good from it. At the very least you’ll be laughing hard at Mother.

I hate these guys so much

This is very good. Sting-y, but not too Sting-y. Guitar and drums are much of the forefront on "Synchronicity II", "Walking In Your Footsteps" has marimba-like synths and dinosaur lyrics. In "King of Pain" the guitar and drums contribute well. Of course there's "Every Breath You Take," the Police's signature song.

This is a must have album 💿!

This doesn't sound like The Police; it's really Sting's unofficial first solo album. Gone are the instrumental jams of Zenyatta Mondatta and Ghost in the Machine, replaced by bare-bones music that allows Sting's mediocre vocals and oversized ego to take center stage. If this is the direction The Police were heading, I'm glad they broke up.

It is amazing this record was even made. The band members were arguing over everything. Of course, Sting won all the arguments in making the songs and the record. I recall seeing them during their concert tour after this album. It was amazing how three band mates made so much sound. Sting would go solo after this release and make even better songs, music, and money. In 1985, Sting would sing on one of the most memmorable songs of all time with Dire Straits - Money For Nothing.

Their best album ever!

I mean, come on. “Every Breath You Take”? “Synchronicity II”? “King of Pain?” “Wrapped Around Your Finger”? It doesn’t get much better than that.
