Perhaps one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever. Even 30 years later, the music just sweeps me away. Magnificent.

This memorable, impassioned soundtrack for “The Last of the Mohicans” was a collaboration, of sorts, between South African composer Trevor Jones and American composer Randy Edelman, but not for the reason stated in the ITunes album notes. Trevor Jones remains very much alive and actively composing music for media as of June 2019. Altered creative direction from director Michael Mann, and the pace of editorial changes with the film necessitated bringing Randy Edelman on board the composing team during latter stages of post-production. The stated demise of Trevor Jones is incorrect. It is true, however, that Jones and Edelman crafted a score worthy of the ages, one that should have seen at least an Oscar nomination. Academy rules disagreed. Please see TrevorJonesFilmMusic.com or IMDb.com for a complete filmography.
