Great, but...

I very much enjoy the "Genesis Revisited" albums, live albums, and concerts (looking forward to the current tour returing to Detroit next spring). And I was excited to see that this latest installment is with an orchestra. Indeed, the paring does not disappoint! The orchestral arrangements especially shine on Out of Body, Dancing with the Moonlit Knight, Shadow of the Hierophant, El Nino, and Supper's Ready. But as much as I love to hear the classic Genesis and Hackett solo material, I wish Steve & Co would have covered some of his brilliant, recent solo work here. For example, The Pheonix Flown from Beyond the Shrouded Horizon (2011), Corycian Fire from Wolflight (2015) and Those Golden Wings from At the Edge of Light (2019) would have sounded extraordinary with a live orchestra. Although this is a great album that any true hackett fan will enjoy, I also see it as a missed opportunity to present amazing, contemporary prog-rock to audiences who came to hear The Musical Box.
