I also understand that I shouldn’t expect it to sound like the original. Just because this is for a good cause, doesn’t mean it should get a free pass.
Some of the vocals in this version made me cringe into a ball. Dua Lipa’s kick off was horrendous. Anne-Marie’s attempt to copy 2003 Brittney Spears was nauseating. I think the worst offender was Luke Hemmings’ vocals. He really should just start on the note, not do the whole “owwwhhhhhIIIIIIIIIIII” into it. It sounds disgusting.
This was just not good. The change in the entire tone of the song is one thing, but the vocals were just awful.
