After 4 years since the sensational Tell Me You Love Me, we’ve been blessed with an entire saga told through song. Demi’s been through quite a lot since their last album, and Dancing With The Devil… The Art of Starting Over covers all the bases. From fighting for her own life, navigating love and heartbreak, to overcoming personal trauma, Demi holds nothing back on the two titular tracks, as well as ‘Anyone’ ‘ICU’ ‘Butterfly’ and the tearjerking happy ending of the album, ‘Good Place’. There’s no shortage of heartwrenching ballads either, from the mellow and twangy ‘The Way You Don’t Look at Me’ to the heartbreak cry collaboration ‘Easy’ with Noah Cyrus. But Demi knows how to tell a story, and no album story is complete without some upbeat dance-along songs, which ‘Lonely People’ ‘Melon Cake’ ‘The Kind of Lover I Am’ ‘15 Minutes’ and ‘My Girlfriends Are My Boyfriend’ which features Saweetie. The beautiful melodies and stellar vocals are abundant on ‘Met Him Last Night’ featuring Ariana Grande, along with ‘What Other People Say’ which has Sam Fischer crooning right on par with Lovato. The album tells a story of overcoming hardship and turning pain into beauty, which Lovato does on ‘Carefully’ ‘California Sober’ and her hauntingly angelic cover of ‘Mad World’.

This album isn’t just about a drug addiction. It’s not a ploy to prop Demi’s career by way of using drugs as it’s influence. This album is about Demi. A person who has been through way too much for only being 30 years old. Though some of circumstances are unfortunate we hear how they understand they’ve made mistakes. Gone back on things they’ve said. Made a fool of oneself. Falling victim to drugs and repeated patterns. Demi literally fell inside while rising to fame on the outside. They’re not perfect but they also understand that’s okay. Life isn’t about being perfect, it’s about living. For yourself, and then for others when you, yourself, are taken care of. No one is going to come and rescue you… and you’re going to make mistakes and that’s all okay. The strength is takes to allow yourself to see your flaws, accept them and try to improve. It’s not hard being a good person, it’s hard fighting your fears and demons in order to be a good person. We’re all trying. This album was beautifully curated. Every track takes you further into their journey and I can appreciate that Demi isn’t perfect but they’re worth it. Some of you missed their message and their point. People come, people go but as long as you love yourself. That’s all that matters. The rest will fall in place.

✨NO MORE MELON CAKES!!!✨ I love Demi! They are so amazing and it’s amazing that they came out as non-binary. I hope you go farther!

This album is vocally on point, no denying that Demi has an amazing voice. Let me get this out of the way, I am not hating on Demi Lovato or anything she has done lyrically or vocally. The melody, sounds of the songs are what I am coming after. A lot of the songs sound the same to be honest. There are a few songs that stand out (DWTD, Melon Cake, Girlfriends are my Boyfriends, Easy, Anyone just to name a few). The rest just sound like the new modern mainstream pop genre. For Demi Lovato fans, this album is DEFINITELY for you. As for me, it may grow on me.

It’s ok, I dislike the cussing. But I wanted to say I’m praying for Demi and her recovery and her to get off of drugs and go back to christianity, like before she was famous, and for her to not be lesbian. I don’t hate her for any of these things, just her problems and choices she’s made in her life, be praying for the poor girl. BE SAFE AND LOVE YOU DEMI 💖❤️✨. And y’all all stay safe and continues to spread kindness. If you wanna find me anywhere else, I’ll have a YouTube channel in like two years. And it’ll be called #stargirl450 and yea. Also I do multiple other reviews ( skin, Sabrina carpenter ) ( drivers license, Olivia rodrigo ) ( what other people say, Demi lovato ) ( it ain’t me, Kygo feat. Selena Gomez ) ( my head and my heart Album, Ava max ) and many more ratings. See you soon and hopefully you read the whole thing lol bye ✌🏻👋🏼💖
