This might be kind of long but I’ll do my best to sum things up. I have been a huge mxpx fan since ‘98, I’ve seen mxpx live more than any other band on planet earth. Mxpx was actually my first concert too. I am a huge music fan and love so many bands but if I’m forced to pick my overall favorite it would have to be mxpx. I have not loved everything they have ever put out, for some reason besides Life in General and Buffalo I always really enjoy all their albums for the most part but I gotta be totally honest there are always songs I’ll skip in their catalog if it’s not LIG or Buffalo. This new song is hard for me to put into words but I’m so happy because it is PERFECT! It’s fast, energetic, Mike sounds fantastic, it sounds familiar but also fresh, the guitar parts at the end, etc.... it’s just perfect! I hope their next album sounds like this song! I love fast punk mxpx songs that are so catchy and the lyrics are great - just like this song! I’ve supported mxpx forever and now that I’m in my late 30’s and have a toddler I’ve made mxpx his favorite band too! My son wanted to go to the record store last week so he could buy his first CD - Mxpx “slowly going the way of the Buffalo” I could not have been happier seeing things come full circle! He even has a mxpx sticker on his drum set! I could go on, I got so many mxpx stories. Gonna get random here cause I have lots of mxpx stories; One time I ran into Tom at my local mall in my hometown and I thought I was hallucinating, I could not believe it was him! He was sooo nice and chatted with me and I got a picture with him!!! Or one time Mike was playing a show in a parking lot for a t shirt screen printing company that had him and somehow someway I was driving literally listening to mxpx and heard loud music and I could not believe my eyes but it was Mike playing outside in a parking lot for I guess was some kind of company event! Anytime I drive up towards Seattle or especially drive past Bremerton it’s my tradition to always play mxpx! I’ll list some of my favorite mxpx songs (not including Life in General or Buffalo) because those albums are flawless and I love every song on those albums. Drowning, Angels, You’re on Fire, Never better than now, nothing left, aces up, heard that sound, wrecking hotel rooms, buildings tumble, without you, never learn, let it happen, begin to start, Elvis is dead, circumstance, let’s ride, coming home for Christmas, lonesome town etc. those are some of my Favorites, of course leaving out LIG and Buffalo songs because 99% of those albums are pretty much perfect! I know this review is long and all over the place and I sound like a total fan boy but hopefully it’s fun for someone to read and maybe other people here can post mxpx stories/reviews etc.. id love to read them!
