BS&T What can you say about them Well then let me explain in my own opinion They knew how to fuse together elements of blues jazz and rock along with horns drums bass guitar and vocals into their varied repertoire Other bands like Chase Chicago and The Ides of March also used those same elements in their music I saw them perform in concert many many times and was impressed by the talent and musicality of the whole ensemble I have all their songs on my I pod Such great musicians they all were That's all for now signed Jazzrockbaby2.017

I love this band, but this is lacking. I want to hear screaming trumpet solos, and this does not deliver like the old CD I had that is now lost. /sigh Why, oh why do the record companies neuter a perfectly good rock album...

The reason that I bought one of these songs is that I thought I was getting the full deal and not a hack job of cut down songs. In Go Down Gamblin' the entire trumpet solo was cut out and half of the guitar solos which practically made the song for me, so two stars is all I give this not-up-to-par album.

This is not the version of this album I remember... I appreciate the addition of extra material, but I do not appreciate the cutting of parts of songs here and there - the "single version." They even took time away from pauses in the music... and, as any musician knows, the silences are just as important as the notes. (This is especially evident in "And When I Die" - at the end - all of the lovely, pregnant pauses are cut short.) For what - to save a few seconds? On a CD?? Dumb. But I love BS&T, so I gave it three stars.
  • 1 TERRIFIC ALBUM

"So Long, Dixie" is by far my favorite, a rather unknown song, nice to hear without D. C. Thomas, as good as he is. This album is worth having, but not as good as their first-an absolute classic and the best they ever did.

A great compilation of their best work. If you are only going to own one BS&T album, this is it.
  • The only B, S & T Album worth having.

This band's reputation greatly exceeds its work. The fidelity of these songs is excellent, sounding like it was recorded this year; and just about every song is very good. My only complaint is the album is exactly the same as the vinyl version. They should have thrown in a few extra songs to take the album to near the seventy minute CD limit. But since when have record company executives been generous?

Good music, great vocals. It's a great jazzy-pop/rock band.
