I saw Major Lance at the Beach Club in Myrtle Beach South Carolina in the summer of 1967, the mecca of beach music. Was just watching the movie "Shag" and the soundtrack had some of Major Lance's hit and it made me remember just how great he was.

One of my fondest childhood memories was hearing Major Lance's big hit "Monkey Time on the radio." As the decades have passed, I think he's been virtually forgotten. So it's wonderful that, at last, some genuine interest in his music is being rekindled. I haven't heard this album, but I'm givin' it major props simply on the basis of his influence on R&B. Major Lance deserves major league recognition!

I saw Major Lance at the Cabanna @ Lakewood Country Club in Springfield Ohio in 1967(?). His music is as heartfelt and soulful as ever. Great music is like a warm memory... it lives on forever.
