OLP has got me the route of a lot of bands through the decades that they've been recording and performing. Raines vocals often get the spotlight but the music sits on a throne of its own when you listen to the rhythm section. The music seems to center around the Very young Jeremy Taggarts drumming. If you don't know the story it's worth a read- a 17 year old walks in, auditions and sits at the throne up until 2014. Mike Turner's guitar and Duncan Coutts' bass lines round out the dynamic with a give and take that broke the riff rock and "play along" bass/guitar duos of the decade. And then there's Raines vocals - a voice more like an instrument that jumps octaves from his high falsetto down to the back of the throat crooning -sometimes in the same verse or chorus. The early work will always be some of my favorite music of all time- the kind of sensation that time travels you back to the memories - the places and people that you were with when the music entered your life.

This is it - although Naveed is probably my favorite single song by Our Lady Peace, Naveed and Clumsy are still tainted by 1 or 2 songs that aren't that great. But in Happiness every single song is great, I would not skip any of them in a playlist! None of these songs were as popular as Clumsy or Superman's Dead, but Waited is one of my favorite OLP songs, it's got a great drum track and transitions from quiet to intense. It's great to listen through the enitre album, it has the perfect mix of slow and loud/raw songs. All of OLPs first 3 CDs are must owns for me.

This is my favorite album by our lady peace. Also why does everyone hate Raine Maida's falsetto singing. i think that it is the best thing about our lady peace, without it they are just not as good. they are still my favorite band even though raine does not use the falsetto in it. but seriously his singing is great.

oh my god! whoever wrote the itunes review was a TOTAL jerk! Raine Maida is NOT the weak link in the band, his voice is extremly amazing and yes his lyrics DO appeal to his fans and thats all that matters.jeez if you dont like the lead singer, then dont review the band.
