This album is a rare musical treasure from start to finish!! I've been a fan now for decades, and frankly when Satch released Shapeshifters, I thought he had checked out of the writing business. It featured formulaic, somewhat flat arrangements and performances, which I thought sounded like a JS wannabe. The Elephants of Mars is a world class offering of the variety and inventiveness of which we knew this master was capable. Not only does this album warrant rave reviews, it's one you'll want to listen to again and again. With each track it's clear that Joe was fully engaged in the creative process, note by note, measure by measure, bringing nuances to the entire album that only come from total commitment of a master artist! Buy it, enjoy it, share it!!

can't say enough good things about this album - JS has consistently been the best rock guitar instrumentalist on the scene for decades now, and what makes him so great is his absolutely relentless quest for mastering the art of musical expression, he loves music and his love always shines through on his albums, and this one is really special
  • Another great album

It’s been a fun ride through the years listening and enjoying Joe’s albums. Each one is a new adventure and as always, this one is awesome, too.
  • Good ol’ Joe!

Give Mr Satriani credit for delving in to different directions for musical inspiration. There is more to life than hard edged Rock, but at least he kept the guitars front and center. No voices means no distractions and JS albums are meant to be that way. Kick back, relax and enjoy his journey. You’ll be glad you did.

iv'e listen too joe before anybody new about him, before surfing and thought he was the next EVH,[he is} R.I.P.EDDIE SO THIS NEW ALBUM IS OK NOTHING SPECIAL, this is like dad music, not pushing boundaries staying in the groove, but joe is not shreding anymore i diden't hear any lagato runs in any phrasing lines that i come to love about joe,he hasen't done anything cool sents redshift riders,i think joe needs too stop and put the guitar down for a while, and come up with something better,or go back to what made himself great melodic shredding......andy james is the man now!!!!!!!
