Sandy ain't been this good since FEELIN' KINDA LUCKY, and few bands ever got that good. Stunning, shocking, fresh, and a total return to form.

Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys are a great band & this is their best album. The sound is retro & authentic, but the songwriting has a modern sophistication that helps elevate it above pure nostalgia. Big Sandy has an amazing voice & the Fly-Rite boys' playing is deft, tight & expressive. This album would be worth the money for just the riff on The Great State of Misery. But come for the riff, stay for the entire album. My favorite LP of '06.

A few years ago I got hooked, to say the least, on this delightful band. I bought their CD solely on the cover art for their supercharged album "FEELIN' KINDA LUCKY". The music inside was a knockout. One listen to 'Backdoor Dan was enough to convince. Since then I have collected, with the help of a friend, all of their CDs. When the band appeared at a local club a while back I was four hours early. I was able to meet the band's leader, Robert "BIG SANDY" Williams, before and after the show. He had the graciousness and spirit to sign all 10 CD's with notes and asides. Absolutely never a bunch of nicer guys. Their new album sounds like another winner although I have only heard it through the preview 30 seconds on itunes. ABSOLUTELY talented and serious musicians. I keep searching their website for nearby shows. Good Luck Boys!!
