I misplaced my CD version of Great Performances: Baroque Favorites years ago. The music has lingered in my memory for some time now and I just had to get a new copy. In my opinion, this is truly good music.

This is a terrible feel-good version of the Canon with added riffs that destroy the mood of the piece, consigning it to the land of elevator or spa music. the Canon should start slow, evoking man's feelings of sadness and mortality, gather speed, and end triumphally. I am not sure whether you can get a pure version anymore. orin
