    It’s been a long time since I’ve come across an album that it THIS good from beginning to end. The lyrics are meaningful and the sound/music is catchy and gets stuck in your head. I’ve been singing along in my car, on walks with the dog and have even got a few strange looks as I belt out lines from EASY NOW while at work.

    Noel Gallagher‘s newest album is awesome both studio and live. I was luckily enough to get to see him play it here in the US on his tour. I’ve been a big fan of his since his days in Oasis and he never disappoints.

    Noel’s Covid quarantine album certainly showcases his wheelhouse sound. Less groove centric than the Post-Moon EPs. Feels like an evolution of Chasing Yesterday’s songwriting. Voice is masterful and he always knows exactly where place horns and strings to give his songs amazing power. ‘Love is a Rich Man’ is weak TBH, but ‘There She Blows’ soars and feels different from any of his previous tracks. ‘Pretty Boy’, probably the first and last song ever to have Noel, Marr and Robert Smith layer guitars upon it. The Lennon cover is twisting & sublime. Fantastic addition!

    The album ‘Council Skies’ is Noel going back to an acoustic based songwriting approach and the results are probably some of his best within the context of his solo career. The acoustic based approach is beautifully complemented with lush string and backing vocal arrangements that lift the songs. The track listing is eclectic in style but balanced, uplifting and reflective. The new album absorbs all the best influences from all of the previous solo albums in arrangement and approach resulting in his strongest album to date post Oasis.

    This record is an unexpected beauty for me! I was making Chili in the kitchen one day and heard "Easy Now" on the radio and fell in love!!!!! I loved the song so much that this actually became my first iTunes Pre-order ever :). As the songs kept pouring in I fell in love with every one of them. "Dead to the World" just melts me! In Summary this is a solid record where every song is GREAT! If you can foot the deluxe version DO IT! There are some worthwhile instrumentals on it as well as X-tra songs that are amazing! I have been excited for weeks for this release and it does not disappoint:)
