Frustration Plantation

As an entire package, FRUSTRATION PLANTATION is easily the tightest effort of Rasputina as of its release. Enough has been said to the amount of research put into it by Melora and company, but it is convincingly demonstrated by the layers of melody and mood, especially in songs like "Oh, Injury" and "The Mayor." Frequent recital favorites include "Secret Message," "High on Life," Momma Was an Opium-Smoker," and the awesome cover of "If Your Kisses Can't Hold the Man You Love." As on A RADICAL RECITAL, we get to hear Zoe Keating take vocal duty on "Wicked Dickie" and "When I Was a Young Girl," and it's still vintage Rasputina even though Melora isn't on lead. The true masterpiece to this album is the seldom heard "Girl's School" which tells of the social conditioning of young women, and at the same time, manages to include one of the hardest rocking cello pieces ever. Along with HOW WE QUIT THE FOREST and A RADICAL RECITAL, this is an absolute must for any music lover.

I love this album! It is one of my favorites!! I sugest Doomsday averted; When I was a Young Girl; Momma was an Opium-Smoker; and Girls' School! Thoses to me are the best!! I love it! :P
