Without a doubt, one of their best albums! My two favorite songs would have to be AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes and Gingerbread Coffin. Both are absolutly, brilliant, as well as the rest of the songs on the album. Incidentally, in AntiqueHighHeelRedDollShoes, when she's talking more than singing, her voice sounds very similar to Drusilla's on Buffy. Album is a must have for any Rasputina fan!

I love Rasputina, but didn't want my parents to know b/c of the whole "goth" thing or whatever. But I played "Thimble Island" for them on a trip, and they actually liked it! One of their best albums (which is saying something!)

CABIN FEVER!, Rasputina's third album, has some great moments but suffers slightly from being released between two superior outings. The haunting "Gingerbread Coffin" opens this album with all the splendor of a well-told ghost story. Some of the songs here could have come straight from FRUSTRATION PLANATION (and would fit better thematically than some of that album's own tracks), such as "State Fair," "Thimble Island," and "Remnants of Percy Bass." The experimentation with different sounds hurt some otherwise perfect songs, noteably "Hunter's Kiss" (whose true greatness is heard on A RADICAL RECITAL). "Clipped" is a beautiful but seldom heard treasure, but the true unsung gem of this album is the spectacular "Our Lies" which we can only pray makes its way to Rasputina's set lists soon. Overall, the weight of the strong material greatly overshadows the weaker, but not enough to warrent a full five stars.

This album is wonderful. I think it might be the best of the bunch. Gingerbread Coffin is a complete classic.
