I heard the master play several of these pieces with the NY Philharmonic last night. Both spectacular and achingly beautiful. He closed the first half with the tango from "Scent of a Woman" and brought the audience to their feet. I was delighted to find this album to buy for my violin playing 10 year-old daughter, who attended her first classical music concert with me last night. Beautiful music beautifully played.

Close your eyes, enjoy and if you cry, don't worry, it's normal. Congrats to John and Itzhak. Amazing couple.

If you've heard of the Stradivari violins, but haven't actually heard one, now is your chance... The main reason I even looked for this album is to hear the Soil (pronounced "swah") Strativarius violin, which Itzhak so choicely decided to play.

While not generally a huge fan of classical music, I have been madly in love with this album for years.

Itzhak Perlman is amazing. Of course these songs aren't exactly like those we've heard in our favorite films, but they're not meant to be -- Perlman plays them with more heart and more soul. Absolutely fantastic.
