I have loved Pink Floyd for decades now & play their albums all the time even know how to play most of their songs on guitar since I am a musician. It's because of them or Gilmour & Page I play🎸🤘I don't know what this is. It isn't art & isn't music. Almost a stab at Pink Floyd & Gilmour most of all. Which is sad really. It took all 4 of them to give us what we have and love.. Remember that. All 4 not 1 or 2 but all 4 musicians & if those 4 didn't meet or become who they became this is what we could have gotten instead. This is just baffling. Surely couldn't be that desperate for money to take a classic & ruin it like this. Glad Amazon takes returns as I returned my vinyl copy after the first painful listen. I love Tom Waits but he is his own and it works for him but for Roger, it just doesn't.

  • Nope, not 'art'

Hmmm. Based on Waters recent live shows, in which DG is pettily cut out, one must wonder if this is simply Waters no DG version? Remaster? No. Nothing artistic about it, just mute the guys and re-hash a group effort for the Money. Ironic isnt it?

It doesn’t replace, nor is it intended to replace, the original. It’s just a different perspective that hits on all the emotional notes. It really is a wonderful piece of art that allows us to feel the album with all of the emotion and life experience that has occurred since the original was released. Listen to it for what it is and enjoy it as I did.
  • Is this a comedy album ?

It must be because this is laughable. Waters has always been an epic narcissist but this takes the cake. It's like someone doing a second painting of the Mona Lisa but only drawing a stick figure. The masters for this dumpster fire should be destroyed so they never find their way onto any recorded format again.
  • Not DSOM you know

I sat down and gave a listen to Waters REDUX of DSOM. It is not really that bad, it is Roger Waters, so keep that in mind. Being that this year was the 50th anniversary of DSOM, Roger and David still not getting along, probably never will ,they both did a money grab with DSOM. Think about this did we really need another remaster of DSOM? No, David didn’t do anything new to the album. The difference I hear is it is not as loud as the 2016 remaster. It was just an excuse for Gilmour to repackage and make money. (Yes, I bought it again, copy number, I have lost count now) Roger on the other hand did something completely unexpected, something different. He re-recorded the album with lyrics spoken not sung, he recorded a new twist to the music. He put his own style, his own flavor to DSOM. You really have to be a fan of Waters to appreciate what he has done to it. If you’re not a Roger Waters fan well then you’re not going to like this, so just by pass it. But if you like Roger Waters then you should take a listen to this, start it and just sit back and listen. You just might be surprised at what he did….
  • Seriously???

Can we say cash grab???? Was this part of Roger’s original vision???? Shameless. This man is a joke. Almost as pleasurable as a root canal. Almost.

Roger should have worked on new material.

He’s always been jealous of David’s vocals and guitar playing. Roger can’t stand not getting all the credit. This is just a vanity project and it’s woeful.
  • Absolutely Horrible, sounds like an over-produced audiobook

Just when you think the megalomaniac can't get any worse, he raises the bar. He is the perfect example of even though you wrote it, doesn't mean you should sing it. On Speak to Me,resurrecting the lyrics to "Free Four" from Obscured by Clouds is hysterical. Instead of the amusing banter and maniacal laughter in the background we get worthless musings from the author (I use the term author because this sounds like an overproduced audiobook, like most of his solo work). It's almost like it creates fan participation. Instead of on the album, the laughter comes from us. The best way I could describe this to someone, it's basically like if Tom Waits covered the album. Which is in no way a compliment. To those who praise this dumpster fire, they're idiots who think anything lame and diminishing is avant garde. AndyNYCAZ you're the problem.
