Invincible Shield is to Firepower what Defenders was to Screaming for Vengeance. Mostly the same approach to writing, but with different shades and textures. A few more colorful and less direct compositions than Firepower. More layers on the guitars on this one, with more songs utilizing expanded instrumental sections. Rob Halford is 72 and sounds better than he has since the 90s. The sound quality is very crisp (though a bit quieter on iTunes) and the performances are all excellent. It's wild to think that a band as old as Judas Priest is hitting a new peak in their career, musically and in terms of popularity, nineteen albums in. The bittersweet part of this is how little Glenn Tipton can contribute for actually playing, though he's still involved in songwriting. Keep defending the heavy metal faith! I wish some of their peers (*cough Metallica cough Iron Maiden*) would take notes

I’m still on the fence on the album but am I the only one that noticed the sound on Apple Music it seems muffled or the volume is very low is it a production or apple issue

This record is a master piece, wow, the Star in this record is Rob Halford. Just saw the show and amazed me once again with his voice, God blesses heavy metal by allowing us to have Halford in the scene, he is one of the masters still standing, some of the biggest don’t have their instrument as intact as Halford does 🤘🏻

Travis' drumming as always stands out, and Halford's voice is still superb as he has mastered how to use it at this stage of his career...but this time more emphasis on songwriting and arrangement...get the deluxe version - "Vicious Circle" is my favorite Priest song since "Night Crawler" or "Touch of Evil" (online articles note Tipton plays the solo on it as well).

This album is a mix of Screaming for Vengeance, Defenders, Turbo, and Painkiller. Rob is amazing with his high vocals still even at his age. While I’m not sure what they were doing with The Lodger the rest of the album amazing. JP killed it on this one. Way to go JP!!! This album IS heavy duty!

Sounds just like they did when they first started! Really enjoy this band. My parents got me into them, and I’m about to 30 in June.
