Sly and Dylan were the two most brilliant musicians of the 60's, each setting a creative new trend and connecting to ther beat of the heart of the generation. Great album!!!

    A must own!
  • Sly doesn't get the credit he deserves for innovation

I know this is good when I can hear the influence on all of my favorite bands. EW&Fire, Tower of Power, Funkadelic, Ohio Players. Sly put it all together in a new way. My IPOD was crying for this and is now satisfied.
  • Great Album

When you listen to this album, you will hear beats and melodies that have been sampled and/or copied by other artists. You realize that this group has basically influenced and continues to influence artists of today and yesterday
  • Best Band Ever

Flat out no questions this is one of the best bands ever. Their talent and influence are on par with the Beach Boys and Beatles by way of comparison. Miles Davis, George Clinton, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, on and on were influenced by Sly. Just listen to the songs. They are not dated and considering when they were done they are well before their time. Some of these songs are more or less american standards at this point (Family Affair, Thank You, etc..) JUST GET THIS!
  • The best soul/funk band ever.

Period. Both this collection and Anthology are great compilations of Sly's work. Nothing about this music says old school. It's as strong today as ever.

This is great funky music. If you do not want to buy the full album, at least get these: Everyday People, I Want to Take You Higher, Dance to the Music, Hot Fun in the Summertime, Stand!, or Family Affair.
