It took time and patience but it's finally here in iTunes and I couldn't be happier. I love this album!!!

Beautiful instrumentals that only Dan can do so well. One of the two songs with lyrics was written (both words and music) by Judy Collins. It's a very hauntingly beautiful song, but Dan took it to an even higher level of wonderful. The Power of Gold is a story of how money can control your life if you let it. A reminder to us all not to let it. If "there's something about the song that disturbs you" then look closely at what controls your own life. Then repent.

Oh My god! What a timeless classic, crossing over from jazz to pop and easy listening! What a great album (have listened to it for 32 years). Rest in Peace Dan !!! Love you!

This is the first DF album I heard back in 1978 when it was released. The breadth and musicality of this album is outstanding and is a testament to DF’s significant musical talents as one of the finest American musicians of his generation. There is something for almost every listener here—jazz, classical, rock and folk selections. DF moves deftly through a broad musical spectrum here as well as on his many other albums. This album has brought me many hours of listening pleasure and appreciation and served as motivation to follow DF’s career and other albums. DF was not always a commercial giant during his career but the quality and diversity of his music was always enjoyable. His approach and career are epitomized in his own comments on the back of this record that will be missed if purchased via iTunes—he was always looking to explore new forms of music, to stretch and grow and have a hell of a lot of fun….and this is all of that.

Classic Fogelberg - with a twist of Weisberg. Covers rock to jazz and all points in between. Runs from melancholy to fun and from sweet to sassy. It is one of my favorite albums of all time. Since there are such different themes and approaches, not every song will hit your joy button at any given moment. BUT the power is that with a variety of sound and style this broad, there is something for everyone and for every mood.

Lots of different musical styles here, and a few gems for sure. Intimidation is probably the most straight forward jazz piece on the album and a favorite of mine. The instrumental Lazy Susan is great, but leaves you wishing it was about 5 minutes longer. There is also the classically based Paris Nocturne, which blends seamlessly into the beautiful Since You've Asked. These two should definitely be listened to as a pair. They are truly stunning together. The two rock songs, the radio hit Power Of Gold and the underrated Tell Me to My Face are both excellent.
  • Not as Good as Weisberg's Early Work

I have to confess I'm not a big fan of the Fogelberg-Weisberg collaboration. Maybe because I like Weisberg's early work so much. It still amazes me that his Hurtwood Edge is not available. His early sound is beautiful and authentic and remains some of the best music I've ever heard, but he went a little glitzy after that and I'm afraid I wasn't interested. It would be nice if iTunes could make Hurtwood Edge available again.

I simply love this album. My cassette tape was played till the tape broke! Paris Nocturne is my all time favorite and to see them both back in 1989/1990 playing together was unbelievable!!! Dan Fogelberg was an extremely talented musician on top of being a great singer/somgwriter. This would be one of those 5 albums I would have to have on a deserted island!!!

Here it is 30 years since this album was produced and it still sounds great & relevant. I can't tell you how many time I've played "Guitar Etude No. 3" in my lifetime! It's always been one of my favorites. This album was amazing then and it's still amazing today.
  • How about some SOLO Tim Weisberg?

I love the collaborations, but what about adding some SOLO Tim Weisberg tunes to the iTunes store? Especially songs like Katie and Westchester Faire?
