Not as good as their early stuff in my opinion. I liked the more mainstream pop-rock sound. This album is good, don't get me wrong. But certainly different from "Phantom Planet Is Missing". And quite simply, not as fun.

i'm not really a phantom planet fan at all... i think they have good songs here and there, but for the most part they're way too poppy for me... that being said, i would like to say that this album is fantastic... they will never make a better album, but perhaps only hope to match it... i would recommend this album to anyone who likes unrefined, raw rock music.

One of the more perfect albums made. Changing their style from poppy girl anthems to rocking man fist pumps was a genius move and has made a my trips traveling down the road shirtless and windows down with Phantom Planet blaring out the car.

Phantom Planet has grown so much from the hit single "California", This album maybe the best since. Tracks to listen to are "big brat", "By The bed", "After Hours" and the best song of the album, and maybe even better then "California" its self "1st Things 1st" It's a great album to put on an listen to. But those tracks are just the "gotta haves".

I can't tell you haw many times I have listened to every song on this masterpice, but they are all well in the doubble didgets. I automatically loved the meantime, but then Big Brat, the happy ending and by the bed clinged to the back of my head and haven't left. The only track on this ENTIRE album that I don't love is You're not welcome here....but I still really like it. Their new album Raise the Dead is comming out on April 15 with their new single Do the Panic....It's gonna be even better than this gem.

I hated Phantom Planet is missing, and The Guest is pretty good. But to me, this is the best album the band has ever done and possibly will ever do. This album pulled off the scummy garage rock sound off so well that it is amazing at how good it was done. The first time I heard Big Brat I wondered. Who is this? When I saw it was Phantom Planet I thought there was a mistake. I was used to the sunny pop California OC Fan driven Phantom Planet. But this new Phantom Planet I loved. I bought this album the day it came out and fell in love with it. Every song seems to have it's own unique sound. This band pulled off a sound change brilliantly. I love every song on this album. I pray that their new album sounds like this one, and hasn't gone back to the pop sound. This band could do wonders with this sound and they need to realize that. I hope their new album, has this heavy, garage sound. Long live Rock And Roll! - Coz
  • A Brief Bout of Awesome

This is definitely Phantom Planet's best work. While they are good at melodious pop rock, I think this is so much better. It is hard to pull off "messy" rock without sounding overdone, and they totally accomplished it. I do not like their other work, on say, Negatives and The Guest. It's just what every California Hollister kid would listen to (aka The OC???). They just seem to blend in with a lot of other bands with that sound. This CD is completely different, and absolutely amazing. It is in my top 5 of favourite CDs. To me, it is unique and captivating. But I know people who like their other style better. I don't care. This is the only album of theirs I will need (unless they change their minds again, I hope!!!!)

This CD blew me away. What a departure from The Guest, and a great departure at that. This album is so much fun. If you love rock'n'roll, I highly suggest buying this album. All the songs are awesome, but the highlights for me are Big Brat, 1st Things 1st, By The Bed, After Hours and The Meantime. Yeah, the highlights are pretty much half the album. That is only because it is so bad@ss
