Reviews

  • Strong, classic blues

While the I-Tunes reviewer says Coco Montoya does little to distinguish himself from the rest of the pack, the pack he is leads the way in preserving and constangly refreshing the blues for the next generation. There is no reason not to add this to your collection whether its your first Coco recording, or if this completes the long list of outstanding recordings.

while i can't give it a 5 star rating, i WOULD give it a 4.9 if i could...this CD is a bit different from his previous ones, but it is STILL worth anyone's money....theer are a couple of songs that dont' make me reach for the volume control to turn it up, but, i dont' skip them, either....and the title track, along with most of the other tunes are aboslutely KILLER!!!!.... i got to see Coco in person this week, and he did several of the songs....i was knocked out!...i think if the guy made a performance video, it would fly out the door!!...it was the BEST show i've ever seen...and on another personal note...this guy is SOOO humble, friendly and accessable.... bottom line...BUY it..you wont' be sorry..,...and if you EVER get the chance to see this guy in person...DO IT!!!!!!!

I think what I like best about Coco Montoya is the feel. He is not one of those guitar players that someone says is better in concert. He may be but he doesn't sound stiff on the album either. The guitar playing is awesome and he has a good blues voice.

First review is from a novice. Classic Coco, smooth and infectious blues. Good Album and worth it.

Coco turns out yet another solid performance. While not quite up to his classic albums "Just Let Go" or "Ya Think I'd Know Better", this still has solid Montoya guitar work and true blues lyrics. Instead of the first song, jump to the last and work your way up the playlist. Enjoy--I did. BTW, If you get the chance, catch him in person. I've seen 4 of his concerts in the past 6 years and he is incredible.
