Hawaiian Slack Key Kings

It's nice to see old-school (Ledward Ka'apana) with a nice Wahine tuning and gorgeous falsetto in comparison to the popish but definitely Hawaiian son Jack Johnson merged on an album together. But I must digress: Johnson is not a slack-key braddah, even though he's a child of the Islands, for sure. I grew up as a kid listening to my parents play the music of their classmates (Olomana/Gerald Santos, Ozzie Kotani, Keola Beamer), and there is a sentiment to them that is unparalleled, but we're in a new age...an age that has great potential. I think there could have been one more addition to this anthology, and that's Jake Shimabukuro and his ukulele. I'm still a die-hard Dancing Cats Records fan.

I love the sound of slack key...beautiful, relaxing...perfect!

I saw the title, and was hoping to see more of the pioneers of recorded slack key, but maybe it's a copyright kind of issue. There should be a Gabby, Sonny, Ray, & Leonard, album; or better yet, have the seperate albums available so others can appreciate them, too.
