Great. Great. Great album. Too bad nothing new will come from them. I loved the explosion near the end in "The Never Ever Aftermath". "Animals" is about as audio of a bleak horror story you'll get. Same goes for "The Moth and I". The vocal pacing on both "My Distress" and "And Always" is superb. This album will scare you and amaze you at the same time. Great undertones. Great sound. Great structures. And perfect bslance between chaos and harmony. Elementary is outstanding. Miss these guys :(

A CD collection will never be complete without Elementary. True artist of the scene.

I had never heard this band and I bought their album simply because I thought the art work was interesting. This was the best purchase I have made in a long, long time! Every song on the disc is great, the guitar work is beautiful and the drumming is absolutely great. I really enjoy the vocals and find myself singing/screaming along every chance I get. The tempo changes from song to song make the album remain fresh throughout and the ambient sound in "A Fell Wind" is a great change of pace for the disc. I would recommend this to anyone who likes any sort of rock music.
  • So satisfied.

Obviously, you should not buy this album if seemingly chaotic, complex, and brutally intense music is not your thing. But if you like intricate, intense, explorative, unique heavy music, The End is a real gem. I believe that in this album, they have found a perfect balance between melodic and chaotic. The vocals are especially attractive in the mix here. I'm not usually a fan of higher end singing and screaming (honestly, because it usually ends up being whining screamo... personal prejudice...) but Wolf has a beautiful voice, and screams wonderfully as well. These kinda make me think that if Tool and... 30 Seconds to Mars had a baby, they would be the result. However, Maynard James Keenan and and Jared Leto mating is not a pretty thought...

damn good album, grabs you with track one and dosent let go until theyre done. . .and you realize you just sat through a ten minute acoustic song, and loved it. Diversity, talent, layers, melody, heavy hearted srhill-raw sounds. its got the makings of a keeper death to emo

Unlike "Within Dividia" more singing and more organized music make this one to remember. Its a departure from any of their previous work but is one you won't want to miss.
  • This is revolutionary

The vocals break away from the previous work of this band. Instead of small HxC garage band sound they now have one of the most indescribably epic sounds out there. Its so amazingly kick a**.
  • More diverse than 'In Dividia', but ultimately less challenging.

    By Dillinger rocks.
While definitely more dynamic than their previous album, 'Elementary' is much easier on the brain. Plenty of choruses, with simpler parts and arrangements make for a more paleteable, digestable style, but it lacks the intensity and chaos of 'In Dividia'. The recording is well done, there are some good moments, but the songs feel very one-dimensional and repetitive relative to their own previous works and the work of their peers. I enjoyed it for a couple days but then found myself becoming very bored with it very quickly. Nothing very surprising or inspirational on it. It's not bad, but it's not great.
  • very different from their previous work

different, but i love it. They completely changed their sound on this cd, but give them credit for having the balls to do it. Much catchier, with great clean singing parts, and the heaviness you expect from the End's previous work.
