Dolce vita

Audrey Landers gained fame appearing on Dallas in the 80s and in the movie A Chorus Line. But in Germany, she was a major European recording star in the mid-80s with top ten pop hits "Manuel Goodbye" and "Playa Blanca". Her albums and singles were often top twenty in Germany. US music fame eluded her, but as a singer Landers is great. She has the perfect voice and style for german "schlager music," a light, often dance-oriented entertaining pop style. A reworking of the "Spruren Eines Sommers" LP released in 2006, this collection has Landers singing in German except for a hit-medley. Best tracks: "In Deinen Augen Lag Dolce Vita," "Baila Conmigo", and "Nachts in Monte Carlo" (an updating of an early 90s self-written hit for Landers called simply "Monte Carlo"). She's raised some kids and been out of the limelight for a while, so its GREAT to have Audrey back and sounding so good. Hopefully another album in the style of her classic tropical dance/pop LP's "Wo der Sudewind Whet" (Where The Tradewinds Blow) or "Secrets" is in the works! Welcome back Audrey!!
