The reviewers here are calling "Dance to the Music" the debut album of Sly and the Family Stone. It was their second. First was "A Whole New Thing."
  • One of the greatest debut albums in rock history....

...and you can still hear the influence today. Buy it and dance. And smile.
  • Fairly impressive debut

The Family Stone's first album featured hits such as "Dance to the Music" and "Ride the Rhythm," but also had some psychedelic funk jams such as track 4's medley, which lasts 12:11. It's interesting to listen to but has its ups and downs too.
