  • My Personal Single Best Album Ever

This is the one album I'd take with me on a desert island. The recording quality isn't as good as their later albums and Jay's voice isn't as strong, but this is what music should sound like! It's fresh, fun, funky, yet familiar. An amazing collection of songs that is just a great listen! From start to finish this is a great album.

I'm glad to see this on iTunes. Really brings me back to the college days cramed into Rockafella's. What a tremendously talented band. Really makes me wonder how they managed to stay under the radar on mainstream radio.

I love this album!!!!! Takes me back to my college days at Converse in Spartanburg!! I saw JLC many times there, Sandpipers in Murrells Inlet and The Music Farm in Charleston. I was hoping to find it in my CD collection so I could import it to my itouch but had no luck. I am so happy to see their stuff on iTunes. These guys are great!!!

It was great to see that this album is available on iTunes. I lost my copy a few years ago and had not seen it in any stores. A strong album showcasing their musical abilities. I remember squeezing into a packed Rockafella's in Columbia,SC on many occasions back in highschool. These guys always put on a great show. I reccomend "Someone's in the Kitchen", "Matchbox Whistler", "Dancing Virginia", and "Lamplight", but the whole album is good.

I saw these guys first play at the 40 Watt Club opening for Evan and Jaron... First Athens Show... It was GA Theater from then on out... Joe at 103.7 used to play these guys and Dayroom on the morning show... Great Times and this Record is just a PRIME example of how wonderful those times were... I played in a band in Athens at the time and wore this record out... I had to download it and it is as inspiring today as it was then. Do a reunion at the Theater...
  • Excellent early Jump

This album is an absolutely fantastic collection of the early songs of a hidden treasure in american music. This album demontrates the influence of Irish folk music on the band's early works and yes, even accents. But don't let that discourage you from trying out this great album. From the upbeat fun of "Dancing Virginia" and "Someone's in the Kitchen" to the near cult status of "Opium" among Jump fans, this album is entirely solid. Definitely worth a listen if you're interested in the origin of the band that brought "Cathedrals" and "Mexico" to the near mainstream.

I am so happy to see this album on I-Tunes. JLC brings back so many wonderful memories for me--- seeing them perform at the Music Farm and Horse n Cart was the best. :-)

I agree. I too remember seeing this band in my late teens, early twenties in college in North Carolina. I still go back to this CD a great deal. It has stuck with me over the years, and is one of the most unique sounding, fantastic CD's from back in my early college days when people were just beginning to hear of Dave Mathews, Edwin McCain, and Hootie. These guys were right up there, and too bad they didn't make it quite as big. This CD is equally as good if not better than those artists (especially, Hootie. What the Hell were we thinking?). Defenitely worth a listen.

This cd may be from 1996, but it is JLC done right! These were the good ol' days and how I long for them to come back. This cd is AWESOME!!
