I started to become a fan when I heard Burning my eyes a while back in 2008, I was so stuck in my thrash mode, that I wanted to here something new and heavy. Machine Head is by far one of the best if not THE BEST bands out their. This album is one of my favorites. Although this is considered a groove metal album, it shows a lot of meaning and has a lot of thrash in this album as well. A must buy album, along with Unto the Locust, The Blackening, Burn my Eyes, and Through the ashes of the empires. These five albums are by far the bands best works, HANDS DOWN!!
  • The total opposite of a sophomore slump.......

Machine Head's second album is every bit as good as their first, if not better. The production is more polished, but the grooves are a step up. If you enjoy heavy metal, buy this, along with all the band's other albums. Enough said.
  • Kickass Album!!!

This album is slower and at times more melodic than it's predecessor, but it just as strong of an album as Burn My Eyes. From the opening riffs on Ten Ton Hammer, one can guess this album is definitely dark. Take My Scars reinforces my statement with one of my favorite choruses ever. This album never lets up or slows down. True, it takes a few listens to sink in, but when it does, it's one of the best metal albums you'll ever hear. BUY NOW !!!!

Like the title says, this is one of the best, and heaviest metal albums out there. Songs like Ten Ton Hammer, Blistering, Take My Scars, and Bay of Pigs punch you right in the gut, while others such as Down to None and Violate burn on slowly to begin with, and then unleash a full assault. Machine Head was definitely very comfortable with themselves on this album, and let loose with a creatively visceral heavy metal attack on the listener's ears, and I for one love it. I honestly could not suggest any tracks to avoid, and I could only tell you the "best" tracks as they may pertain to cardio/hardcore workout effectiveness.
  • Solid album from a great band!

the amazing sophomore album from Machine Head is sure to impress. The two standout tracks are definately "Take My Scars" and "Ten Ton Hammer". I recommend this album to any metalhead!
