hahahahah yes the previous post is right the iTunes album review is about as weak as they come...this album is hands down one everyone needs to own. 5 star all the way. This album, especially since Reid was still with Strangefolk at the time is a great peice and example of american roots and folk, served with funk and heart so that everyone will enjoy extensivly!! who needs to import their music, you can find everything you need in Vermont!!
  • Not even from the east and I love this band!

The first time I heard this album I was shocked I'd never heard of Strangefolk. I guess that my Washington origin left me at a disadvantage, but my east coast friends filled in the blanks and I've loved them since. Perfect ski music! This band does offer something unique and different, unlike the iTunes reviewer says, the tunes, and rhythms stick with you and the lyrics have something to say.....rare and exceptional! I especially love Alaska, nice to hear some positive sounds. Good stuff.

I would seriously like to meet the "uber hip" apple music reviewer that was assigned to this album. He knocks the lead singer's (genauer's) voice, presumably because he does not carry the same whiney dog falcetto a la Coldplay, or whatever SoHo coffee shop band this pierced nose condescending record store clerk-of-an itunes reviewer- listens to in the first place. Strangefolk, and genauer's other outfit Assembly of Dust are two bands today that combine an important side of folk with a smooth american rock sentiment. This album is a little ways from refined but shares some almost timeless studio album rock. So you can sip on your raspberry latte and pretend to praise Bono for saving the world, mr. itunes reviewer, but you will never know what you're talking about

Don't even bother reading the album review. It is way off base. Who writes that crap. I like how they only wrote about "Roads", like they didn't even listen to the rest of the album. There are many choise tracks: "Whatever", "Who Am I", "Sad", "All the Same". Give it a chance.
  • Great Album. Great Band

Strangefolk is an awesome Vermont based band. Weightless in Water is one of my favorite albums because of great songs like "Valhalla" and "Whatever". I was surprised when I found them on iTunes! If you like jam bands then buy this album!
