I really like the review that goes with this album, actually. It really sums up what makes Phantom Planet great. They are fun, energetic, upbeat, and aren't ashamed of it. They didn't "sell out" for this album just because its pop-rock. I think sometimes, in this insane desire for everything artistic and indie, we forget that even the Beatles were primarily a pop-rock group. "California" is my favorite song they do, and it got me into the band. Other highlights are "Hey Now Girl" and "Nobody's Fault". "Something Is Wrong" offers an interesting shift, too.

so me and my freind were at this paramore concert... and Phantom Planet was one of the opening acts. We had no clue who they were and when they sang California everyone else in the crowd sang along. I thought they were awesome and realized how lucky i was to see them and paramore in the same concert. Now i love Phantom Planet way more than paramore though. I don't care if this review doesn't help at all... i just wanted to tell this story.

I found out about Phantom Planet all on my own. And thanks to YouTube, of course. This whole album is just brilliantly done , Alex's vocals are unlike any I've ever heard. I can't find a single song that isn't well done. I totally reccomend this for the real hardcore alt. fans.
  • decent.

it pretty good rock, and was recommended to me by last.fm but after further research, I found out that actor Jason Schwartzman played drums in this band for the first 3 albums. I'm a Wes Anderson fan, so that was a big deal. anyway, get the album, if anything, there are 2-5 songs on here that are worth listening to.

Alright, so to start, NOT a fan of the OC. I did not find this band off their CD so this review is actually legit. I will admit this isn't my favorite band, but this album really triumphs over their others. It is catchy lyrics, and a smoother rhythm. Real improvement, props to you! I would defiantly suggest you give this band a chance, and not just because they sing the theme song to the OC. ENJOY!
  • These guys are sooo good!
