By far one of my favorite albums if all time. Adema (with Marky) had always been my favorite band of all time. I really wish he had chosen to stay with the band and not leave twice :'( I've tried to give Luke, Bobby and Tim a fair chance but they aren't Mark. I give Tim major props for stepping up when mark left again in 2011, but honestly he should just stick to guitar. Wish we could return to the Nu metal of the late 90's and early 2000's. I'll stick be listening to the album in 60 years when I'm 85. If you grew up on nu metal, gotta have this gem

Wow, what can i say, this is definately a classic nu-metal album. After all these years, this album never gets old! A true testament of adema's greatness. It's an almost perfect album, every single song on this is excellently crafted. My personal faves to recommend is "giving in","everyone", "pain inside". This album is how i remebered nu-metal. Adema opened the doors for me to get into metal, i will always remember them for that, thank you! I think they were a very underated band, but for the fans who closely followed them knows that the self-titled album was and still continues to be an exceptional and highly regarded album til this day! Mark my words, this is one of those album (of course along with Korns stuff) to reference nu-metal.

I remember hearing this album for the first time. I was in college already fell on love with music from Korn, Limp Bizkit, Staind, Eminem, and the list goes on and on. I still listen to all of this in 2012.

Like Everyone is stating, this album takes me right back to High School, back to the days of Hybrid Theory from Linkin Park, Hardcore Korn and Kid Rock, those were the days. I was a huge rap fan but around that time many rappers started to sell out and I stuck to old school rap and my new love for Nu-metal/Rock. God what I wouldn't do for a return of the late 90s/early 2ks before rappers and rockers sold out.

The only thing that ever keeps me from enjoying this album all of the way is the juvenile, poorly-expressed, awkward-sounding lyrics that are typical of the lesser players of the Nu-Metal scene around the time of Adema's debut. If you can ignore this slight downfall, you'll be able to focus on the surprisingly well crafted meoldies and grooves that Adema manages to pull off on this record. Despite my criticism of the lyrics that I just mentioned, I still find myself singing or humming along with them on alot of the tracks despite myself, which to me denotes some pretty solid songwriting skills being put to use. This is definitely a band of the almighty chorus. I'd have probably related to it alot better had I had the full album when I was in Junior High, but I can't deny that there's something interesting about hearing Linkin Park get mashed together with the more industrial side of Korn while still managing to sound underivative of either band. Some of the dark, atmospheric guitar textures are even somewhat unique to the sound of this band in themselves, and Mark's vocals manage to only sound like his half-brother part of the time that he's singing. So in short, it's not a monumental album by any means, but as far as a Nu-Metal album goes, it's definitely in that upper-crust with the select bands that weren't just crappy generic versions of Korn or Bizkit. Worth a few listens at the very least, and I guarantee that songs like "The Way You Like It", "Close Friends", "Blow It Away", "Everyone" and "Giving In" will be following you around for the rest of the day.
