This album defines what Christian music SHOULD be. Period.
  • I gave up on Christian music

Christian label music was at an all time low in the late 90's. This album broke through all that noise and finally some real art and creativity got to my ears. Even since this album came out I can count on one hand the Christian label albums I have purchased. We need more artists creating music and less marketing people.

"Sink or Swim" is a fantastic starting place for anyone wishing to explore the music of Waterdeep. But if you're not convinced, just take three songs: "Lonely Sometmes" "18 Bullet Holes" and "And," (that's three bucks -- you can afford that!) and if you remain unmoved, move on. But if any of these three touch your soul, keep digging. You are only scratching the surface here.

This album was the first I heard when they used to play constantly in Tulsa, Ok. They are an amazing group of people. I suggest this album to anyone who wants good variety with solid music/lyrics to go with it! The song 18 Bullet Holes is beyond powerful. Just listen to the lyrics.

I really liked this album when I first heard it. The song, "I know the Plans" is what helped me discover Waterdeep overall. After all these years I just can't believe how well these songs hold up. Just as powerful and resonating. The beauty and clarity and raw flavor really transcends genre and trends. Hope many, many people can discover it here. Just a note: There are many Waterdeep albums on here that aren't under the same Waterdeep "Artist" even though it is the same band (one list is under Waterdeep Worship) so you might have to look around a little. This and "Everything is Beautiful" are my favorite albums. There's lots of solo work and experimentation in their other albums but these are the most solid. Heart Attack Time Machine is pretty great in it's own way, too, though.

This may be the finest album of all time. The lyrics are honest and unpredictable. The music is amazing and must be experienced with headphones on. It truly is the "dark side of the moon" for the 90's good to the last note.
