  • Amazing violin

I first discovered Emilie Autumn by her vocal songs, and I liked them severely, but there is something about the way she plays her violin that say so much more than her voice does. I often believe language is limited, and I think this album proves it.

This is true beauty. EA has incredible talent and outstanding composition skills. When I first got into Emilie, I didn't expect myself to fall in love with her instrumentals, and I surprised myself. The songs I would recommend as a must buy are : Syringe : Just a delicate melody and yet so dark. It makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time. It leaves me at loss for words each time . Simply Amazing. 10/10 Unlaced : Such an energizing tune that will give you power and lift you right back on your feet. Incredible. 9.5/10 Maniac Depression : A perfect song to nod your head along to. It has such a touching melody. 9/10 These songs I found very sweet and sorrowful. Syringe will pull you heart out, and warm it in their hands. Unlaced will rip your heart out, break it in two, then sew it back together. Maniac Depression will then hold your hand as you recover. Life changing, these so ga are.

Emilie's the best! The album isn't a must buy for me, but I only know my favorites, like Syringe, Unlaced, Maniac Depression, and Leech Jar.
  • iTunes is Ripping you off by 5 Tracks

There's mystery tracks that iTunes doesn't include on this download. Please, Go to her site to download her albums. You not only get extra content, but also you pay the same (unless you care about saving 4 cents to a dollar). Don't let iTunes rip you off, like it ripped me off. Check the artists store first. You can get deals, and save money.

i loved it. both the metal and the classical. however being a violin student myself (8 years thus far) I find that all of the classical songs are seriously lacking vibatto. (the stuff that makes stringed instruments superior to other instrements, lol) all the long notes are dull and flat, instead of warm and beautiful >< don't hate me its true. i still loved it though okay?
  • I love this album!

I have always admired Emilie's violin playing, but I've usually only liked her songs, I never thought I'd be buying any of her instrumentals. But Laced/Unlaced really made me enjoy her instrumentals alot more. I can say good about any of her instrumentals now. Infact, I'd KILL to learn the violin now. I can't help but bob my head to each and every one of Emilie's songs. BTW; Does anyone know when iTunes will release 'Bohemian Rhapsody/Girls just wanna have Fun EP' from EA? I might DIE if 'Gentlemen aren't Nice' doesn't get on my iPod by the new year.
  • mmm . . .

one of the most attractive features of emilie autumn is her scratchy/not-made-for-recording-studio voice which underscores how human she is. it's beautiful in a very diamond in the coal sort of way. but she doesn't exhibit it on this album! i was a bit disappointed, to tell the truth. her fusion of classical music and 'industrial'/electronic remains beautiful on tracks like unlaced and syringe, though. but, without the voice i might as well just go buy an album from trans-siberian orchestra or something. and i don't like when she attempts to play purely 'classical' music like on the first half of the album; i'm conservatory trained, and to be honest, in my opinion, her baroque interpretation is just sorta . . . harsh and dispassionate. summarily, this is NOT my favorite emilie autumn album. but she's still amazing.

I usually skip instrumental songs on albums and almost never buy a full album, but when it comes to Emilie Autumn I love every single song. She is extremely talented and this is a product of that talent. This is a must have album for anyone who likes violin and/or Emilie Autumn.
  • an unexpected gem

An honest musican showing that she can play the classices on half the cd. The other half of the CD is her more popular music.

I came across Emilie Autumn while looking for how-to's on fairy wings & saw some of her performances on youtube & just had to find more of her electric violin work. I used to play violin & just think she is AMAZING....I never knew the violin could sound so mesmerizingly beautiful. I had tears in my eyes & goosebumps on my skin when I heard her play the first time. I can't wait to listen to the entire album!
