. . . and remains my favorite work by Dave. Thought I didn't like DMB for years, but after hearing this album I realized the band was the problem for me. Dave's sound is just so much better stripped-down and clean. Glad I bought this years ago when it came out, for my girlfriend's birthday . . . wound up making me a fan.

One of the greatest albums of all time. I cannot imagine thinking I appreciated Dave's music and not owning or have listened to this album. He and Tim bring you to another world, their world, and what a sweet world it is. I've listened to this CD at least 30 times probably more, and every time I find something new in the songs I thought I knew well, and something new to love about the album. Favorites from the album are #41 (simultaneously heart wrenching and unbelievably beautiful), typical situation, seek up, christmas song, crash, satellite, warehouse, one sweet world, dancing nancies, two step.. probably in that order, but they could all make the list, and the album just flows so well together. Just perfect.

One of the best compilations of Dave & Tim together live. The variety of songs is amazing. A true fan, a new fan, anyone it's a must buy.

I remember buying this the day it came out in 99 and literally wearing the disc out. I stole my roommate's copy to replace it (no computers yet for us at the time to make a quick copy) but he stole it back Recently, i realized i never replaced it so I got back into it here and I'm glad I did All of his songs are better in this format. I've been to 50 plus shows and the best by far was a d&t performance at purdue about 10 years ago. There's a lot of good live DMB and d&t material out there, but this album is the best. Both for capturing the true essence of the live show as well as amplifying the beauty of Dave's songs. I think he gets shortchanged as a songwriter because his songs get lost often with the full band. Here, that isn't the case and Tim is a perfect compliment on every song. A definite must buy for the true fan or casual listener. Play it for that person that hates DMB and they will be converted. I'm glad to get it back into my collection.

I walked into a classroom once and was attacked by a full dose of criticism. When I didn't respond, the professor decided to level the playing field by giving everyone a fair chance to do their own thing. I chose minarets as inspiration for an art project - my way of combining history and heritage with the new skills I was learning. My tribute to my roots my misunderstood but it didn't matter. I knew how much time and effort went into what I cared about. It's good to have a song that helps me relive that moment, to remind me that it wasn't a waste. I lived for the moment, instead of public approval and it was worth it. I achieved something I didn't know I was capable of. Stream reminds me of all the times I wandered into a room where there was music playing... a bar, a cafe, an abandoned room turned into a makeshift studio... I knew I couldn't evaluate music, the way everyone else was doing, but I would stay because of how it made me feel. I could appreciate the effect on me and how it helped me get on with the rest of my day. Little Thing reminds me of why I loved performing on stage... only place I could be vulnerable and honest - and where people would listen because of the sensitive material being covered. Seek Up is like a prelude to Little Thing... studying the target before planning an attack... and everything that gets in the way to prevent blood from being spilled. Peoples emotions sabotage their own tactics. And its a good thing too. Enough war.
  • Still the cream of the Dave and Tim crop

This album is so fantastic. There are other D&T releases with newer tracks, but this one is still the best of the best. Such an intimate sounding concert that I never get tired of hearing.
