But seriously people, think about! This song just will not do. Not in this time or age. It just doesn't fit. Think about save a prayer-rio-notorious-new world.... those songs were AHEAD of it's time. New, fresh, catchy.... danceable- YES! Very! This song... blah.Duran Duran has fallen. This is nothing compared to songs of NOW. I'm sorry... but if you can't see it... you are a true fan boy.
  • The BEST song from Duran Duran EVER

Falling Down has a solid and steady beat that keeps you into it (courtesy of Justin Timberlake and Timbaland), the lyrics are extremely catchy yet quite meaningful, the guitar work is amazing, and the harmony in Simon LeBon's voice is so hauntingly beautiful, you won't be able to listen to the song just once. This song is also very comparable to Come Undone. The two songs are similar, but Falling Down is different too. The song starts out with just a guitar and Justin Timberlake beat boxing, but turns into a heavily produced, bass filled, layered story. After the first verses, the background synths change notes into an almost gloomy or sad key which is where LeBon drops layered catchy lyrics with Justin Timberlake creating a nice harmony. I personally like this song much more than all other songs by Duran Duran because for once, LeBon's vocals aren't "eighteesified" (You know, the echoey speakerbox effect with overly-dramatic faux-punk accents used in just about every 80's song). They are pure and clear, almost just like they are when he performs in concert, which is in my opinion, a much mopre desireable sound.

This song is sung well and has a great rythm and is just a great all around song. I dont think many people can listen to this and not like it.

Seems there's a lot of controversy surrounding this album, and no wonder. Having been a fan of DD for over 25 years now, and being a musician myself, it's easy to see how parts of this album fell prey to the Timbaland-ization of DD's sound. While "Falling Down" is undoubtedly a smash hit and carries a rich amount of classical DD sonography, much of the rest of the album just falls flat with weak Timberlake-esque hooks and tired beats and drum tracks that... Are lacking. While DD's ability to continue making signature songs is not in question, the majority of B-sides on this album make most of it not worth your time. Thankfully DD is ever-evolving and I look forward to a better album next time around.

I rarely like a song the first time I hear it. I loved this song just from the 30 second clip on itunes. I used to be a Duran Duran fan back in the '80's and they haven't put out a single this good in years. People may complain that they're catering to the younger generation by working with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, but it seems to be the inspiration they needed. I'm really looking forward to hearing what the whole album sounds like.

I like the song but the technical recording makes it almost un-listenable. That is made worse by itune's 128 Kbps compression. I ordered the song as a "Plus" which is supposed to be 256 Kbps. This used to be set up so you knew what you were getting. This way they get people to download thinking they are getting better quality which they aren't. Sounds like bait and switch at the very least.

Download it. I like Duran Duran, and this single has the same good "feel" as "Ordinary World." I also like that Tim and Justin helped, but didn't make it their's (even though I like their stuff as well). Excellent song for Duran Duran fans.
