  • These DO sound better

Have to agree, these recordings are better than the originals. Yes, they’re not what I remember from years ago. But I played the sample of “Sentimental Lady” from the French Kiss album (which is on iTunes now) and the sample of the same song from this album. This version is much richer and has a more open sound. I understand the usual iTunes objection to songs that have been re-recorded by someone other than the original artist; that is not what is happening here. Thanks for the explanation, Mr. Welch.

I don’t get all the haters! Beautiful music by a very under rated artist 💕 You would think these folks never listened to live music!

I listen to the orig and the re-recordings if both are avail before purchasing (i.e. buyer beware), but I realize most people prefer the originals. I generally like these mixes b/c I can hear all the parts in balance, but it seems as though he's a whisker flat (i.e. off pitch) at times. Sorry Bob. Perhaps that's turning some people off. Some of the keys may be different, too. RIP Bob Welch.

I still love the Bob Welch era in Fleetwood Mac's evolution. Too me, his songwritingand vcoacl style best fit with Christie McVie's vocals and worked best with her harmonies. I respect and understand Mr. Welch's comments defending and explaining these rerecordings of his many classics. What is missing is the background musicains and Ms. McVie., not any short comings on Welch's intent or effort. With the exception of Peter Green, Bob Welch is perhaps the best player Fleetwood Mac has ever had in its lineup over the many years. RIP Mr. Welsh.

I like these newer versons of these songs. I agree that it would have been nice to know that the songs were new versions, but that is more of a function of I-tunes than Bob Welch. I have always loved his music, and even met him once when he was promoting French Kiss in 1977. How very sad that he has left us. He will be missed!
