  • A Classic of Irish Folk

Timeless: this sounds as good today as it did in 1976. One of perhaps a half-dozen must-have discs for fans of Irish folk and a great start for those looking to dip their toe in the water.

This is one of the best folk albums ever recorded. None of the reviews are exaggerating. If you like Irish music at all, this album is a must have.
  • A Jewel of an Album

I'm so excited to see this recording available again. As a former music entrepreneur I feel qualified to put this at the top of the heap of Irish/Folk recordings. It is evocative and enchanting. Something "clicked" when these two musicians entered the studio. Chalk it up as a "must have".

The performances here--vocally (esp. Paul Brady) and instrumentally--are some of the finest I've heard live or recorded. I was raised with this album playing constantly in my parents house...one of the great (and many) gifts my parents gave to me and my siblings. It is a level of musicianship and performance I still aspire to but will never achieve. Lots of great videos of these two performing these tunes live can be found (on You Tube) and the energy, momentum, and brilliant sound generated by just the two at times almost defies logic, belief. These two were unmatched in their prime.

At long last this superb recording is available on itunes. It was a centerpiece of the Irish folk revival, both here and in Ireland. Sadly, neither artists has quite given us another with the quality of this one. Having said that, they did give us this wonderful collection songs and dances.
