"If I ever let you out of bed, Without a kiss to the center of your head, Well then I never deserved you from the start, And you can let loose the warmth around my heart." Need I say more?

I hadn't heard of Annuals until I saw them open for another band last year. They were fantastic live- amazingly animated with soaring music and bare, wild vocals that complemented their frantic pace. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Be He Me captured that energy. Wet Zoo is a great EP that has the same feel and character of their past music. The music always sounds like they are playing live which, oddly, makes it sound much more intimate than the sterilized, over-produced music of many of their peers. I can't wait to see them live again- they're crazy with those drums!

this is the perfect little EP to hold Annuals fans over until the release of their new album. it includes four new songs (five if you get it from insound - hint hint) and they're all completely stunning. 'just stay in' is actually re-recorded; it was already released on their first EP, git' got. the addition of the violins and flutes make it really interesting. adam baker's voice is absolutely incredible, and i agree that 'sore' is a beautiful and well-written song. it's definitely my favorite on this record - the lyrics are really touching and the music is outstanding and quite exemplary of what this band is capable of. the crowd singalong in 'around your neck' is really catchy even though i have no idea what they're saying - but that's all part of the fun. the two tracks by Sunfold are more straight-up rock and really highlight kenny's songwriting. it's pretty different from adam's, but all the instrumental layers typical of Annuals are still there. they're a lot more guitar-heavy, which is perfect for featuring kenny's virtuosic work. the only Annuals songs that really accomplish that are 'ease my mind' and 'do you like it.' 'between the worlds' has an interesting drum part in the beginning and a cool palm-muted rhythm guitar part. i am personally partial to 'watering pail' as it shows the versatility of kenny's voice. the breakdown is brilliant and i dig the refrain. i can't wait for their new album - and hopefully a tour soon! i love you guys!

I'm very surprised these guys aren't huge yet. Their sound is amazing. I saw them when the opened for Manchester Orchestra (who sucked, although they normally don't). Their music just sweeps you up in it and doesn't let go. These guys will be huge some day, and I hope that day comes soon. Annuals really deserves it

Annuals always have impressed me. Their songs are all so peaceful but powerful at the same time. i recomend this album! The more you listen to Annuals the more you will like them. Sunfold on the other hand... I'm not impressed. Its too typical. Kenny should stick to guitar...
