  • NOT THE ORIGINAL "ORIGINAL CASTE" RECORDING

If you expect to hear the FIRST recording of "One Tin Soldier", this is not the one! This is a re-recording by supposedly "The Original Caste". What the reason is for not releasing the original version on ITunes is beyond me. The original version is available on a discontinued CD titled "Made in Canada Volume Two, Into the 70's", IF you can find it at a reasonable price. I like this version much more than the Coven version and always have. Maybe one day before I croak.
  • BUYER BEWARE! These are NOT the original versions by The Original Caste

What we have here are cheap, budget hour re-recordings. Don't base your comparisons to the Coven cover of "One Tin Soldier" on these pathetic re-makes. The orignal tracks by the Calgary group The Orignal Caste are outstanding.

This song is the original version. The Canadian band, Original Caste was the band that wrote and recorded it in 1970. It was Jinx Dawson of Coven that re-recorded with the band Coven in 1971. I agree Coven's cover of the song is the much better version.
  • Coven's version is boss

This is the worst version of One Tin Soldier I've ever heard. Itunes should really get the Coven's version...actually getting any Coven would be a start, considering their idk...the pioneers of heavy metal and one of the most influential bands of their time and invented the the horned hand salute (an icon of rock pop culture) and the inverted cross. It is ironic that they did do One Tin Soldier considering its genre and meaning conflicts greatly with Coven's heavy metal satanic style (and they hated the song and did it just for the money) regardless their version is and will forever be boss...nice try The Original Caste. The only place your a hit is Japan.
