No, Virginia... (Bonus Track Version)

To say the songs on here are beautiful is an understatement. The songs are just so powerful and evocative that I just simply can't get enough of them. Amanda, Brian, I tip my hat to you.

What can i say? Amanda Palmer is an Awesome singer and an awesome piano player. Her voice has it's own...kinda....special sound to it and that adds to it all. I'm also actually friends with her younger brother. He's the one who introduced me to them. I love it. can't wait for Amandas solo album

This is a great, great, collection of lesser-known, live, and/or live tracks. It shows a different side to the Dolls that many causal fans may not otherwise hear. For the more causal fan looking for a quick synop: Think "My Alcoholic Friends" meets "Shores of California", with maybe a little "Mrs. O" thrown in for good measure. This is an amazing album, but feels more loose and un-connected than "Yes, Virginia" and may not be what every fan is looking for... but it should be. Also, do not miss Glass Slipper (live in St. Louis) I was at that show, and its an AMAZING song first, with a great live feel, and of course, Amanda and Brian do it right. It's quickly becoming one of my favorites. Long live the punk cabaret!

I agree that many artists release bonus tracks digitally (hence unavailable without puchasing the full ablum), forcing you to buy the album a 2nd time. I prefer having a hard copy and the fact that the Dresden Dolls have made their bonus tracks available for puchase is awesome and very delightful! If you ever get a chance to see them live I wholeheartedly recommend it (I've seen them twice). Beautiful, passionate work.

Yes! Finnally The Dresden Dolls put out some new (well...new to me, anyways) material! I've been waiting patiently... and this is the perfect musical entre' to satisfy my apetitite. The cover of "Pretty in Pink" definately showcases the dresden doll's unique musical style, while staying true to the orginal nature of the song. Lonesome Organist Rapes Page-Turner is probably my favorite track on the albumn. It has a dark side to it and yet it is still very, very fun to listen to. I guess I agree somewhat with the review of this albumn, considering the songs seem to be more "pop-inspired" then previous Dresden Dolls songs. However, each song is still very unique and filled with meaning, attitude and surprise. Overall, this albumn is definately worth the buy.. and the listen (or the 52 million listens). I was definately not dissapointed. However, I really did enjoy the artwork on the original "No, Virginia." a bit more then the bonus track version. It's still pretty cool, though.

i love the cd, lonesome organist rapes page-turner is without a doubt amazing as well as pretty in pink and dear jenny...all of them really...the dresden dolls are incredible.

Love the cover of the Jane's Addiction song. Excellent cd of bsides and covers. A must have for fans of the dolls. Faves are Night Reconnaissance, Dear Jenny, Lonesome Organist, Gardener, I would for you, and THE KILL.

I was suffering from Dresden withdrawal! Thank god they released another CD! Great music! Night Reconnaissance is my favorite!

Having bought "No, Virginia..." the day it was released (and listening to precious little else since), I was miffed when I heard that there would be a "bonus track version." A lot of artists I like have forced me to buy an entire CD a second time just to get a couple of bonus tracks. Thanks so much for letting us buy the bonus tracks individually!
