  • Heavenly Guitar by Chet Atkins

In his final years Chet met and recorded with awesome guitar players like Tommy Emmanuel and handed out his famous CGP (certified Guitar Player) awards. But within the styles of Emmanuel and other legends such as guitarist George Benson, Atkins takes his seat at the table among the most respected guitar players of all time. His domient precision in playing melody, rhythm and bass with sustained cascading notes beautifully ringing out like bells still inspires guitar players both now and for many years into the future.

When you think about how much is here for the money, it's really a no brainer. If you know Chet's playing, you realize that already. If you're not so familiar with him, here is a dirt cheap way to be introduced to the man who completely reinvented the way guitar was played. So much so that he was bestowed the honor of C.G.P. (Certified Guitar Picker). He played on and produced sessions for tons of top artists and was President of RCA Records for a time. He had guitar models named after him by Gretsch AND Gibson. He has inspired folks from Jerry Reed to George Harrison, Vince Gill to Brad Paisley, and helped turn Nashville into the recording Mecca it is today. We lost one of America's true music icons with his passing.
